NOTICE OF A RESCHEDULED COMBINED PLAN & BUDGET PUBLIC HEARING FOR THE WEST FIELDS COMMUNITY REINVESTMENT PROJECT AREA

The Community Development and Renewal Agency of Santaquin City (the “Agency”) has rescheduled a combined public hearing (the “Hearing”) to allow comment on the Draft Project Area Plan (the “Draft Plan”) and Budget (“Budget”) for the proposed West Fields Community Reinvestment Project Area (the “Proposed Project Area”). A portion of Santaquin City’s point-of-sale sales tax may be paid to the Agency under the Draft Plan and Budget. The recipient of this notice and the public are invited to submit comments concerning the subject matter of the Hearing before the date of the Hearing, December 20, 2022.

The purpose of the Hearing will be to allow public comment on the Draft Plan and Budget and whether the Draft Plan and/or Budget should be revised, approved, or rejected; and receive all written and hear all oral objections to the Draft Plan and/or Draft Budget.

The Hearing will be held in the Santaquin City Council Chambers within the Santaquin City Hall, 275 West Main Street, Santaquin, Utah on Tuesday, December 20, 2022, at 7:00 p.m., prevailing local time.

All property owners within the Proposed Project Area, Taxing Entities with the authority to levy a tax within the Project Area, or any interested party, are invited to submit to the Agency written comments concerning the Draft Plan and/or Draft Budget prior to the date of the Hearing. Written comments need to be sent or delivered to:

Written Comments must be received or delivered prior to the date of the Hearing, December 20, 2022. In addition, any person objecting to the Draft Plan and/or Draft Budget or contesting the regularity of any of the proceedings to adopt the Draft Plan and/or Draft Budget, may appear before the Agency's Board at the Hearing to show cause why the Draft Plan and/or Draft Budget should not be adopted.

The Agency has requested a maximum of $1,000,000 in local option sales tax increment (Santaquin City point of sale portion) and $0.00 in property tax revenues over a period of twenty years that will be generated by development within the Proposed Project Area to fund a portion of project costs within the Proposed Project Area. These tax revenues will be used for infrastructure and economic development purposes. These taxes will be taxes levied by the Santaquin City as its local option sales tax.

All concerned citizens are invited to attend the Combined Project Area and Budget Hearing scheduled for Tuesday, December 20, 2022, at 7:00 p.m., prevailing local time, at the Santaquin City Council Chambers located at the Santaquin City Offices (City Hall), 275 West Main Street, Santaquin, Utah 84655. 

A copy of the West Fields Community Reinvestment Project Area Budget is available at the Santaquin City offices (City Hall), 275 West Main Street, Santaquin, Utah 84655.

The Draft Plan and Draft Budget are available for public viewing at the office of the Agency located at the offices of Santaquin City (City Hall), 275 West Main Street, Santaquin, Utah during normal business hours and on the Santaquin City website, www.santaquin.org. The facility is wheelchair accessible and accessible parking spaces are available. Requests for accommodations or interpretive services must be made three (3) working days prior to this meeting.
