Mayor Dan Olson

Mayor Dan Olson

My family came to Santaquin in the 1850’s.  They were farmers, ranchers, and miners. Each generation have been taught to work hard and take care of others.  As a child, I worked in orchards and farms with family and friends. We made our home in Santaquin and raised 5 children.  We loved raising our family here. In 1979, I served in the city council and filled the mayor position after a vacancy of office. I have served on planning and zoning, a representative of the area flood committee in 1981-1985 as well as many other city committees. I retired after 40 years as a fireman and officer for Santaquin Fire in 2019. Professionally, I retired in 2020 as Vice President of Operations of GlobalSim Incorporated, Sandy Utah. I worked as a mechanical design engineer. I have been a part of design, build, install and customer support for multimillion-dollar contracts in hundreds of simulators in facilities all over the world. I have lived a life filled with service, hard work, dependability, communication, while being fiscally responsible. Through dedication, hard work, and love of this city, together we can plan for the future we face while honoring our past.
