Pressurized Irrigation

Pressurized Irrigation

Pressurized Irrigation, commonly referred to as PI, is a cost effective alternative to using culinary water for lawns, gardens, etc.

System Dates are dependent on weather but generally occur Mid-October and Mid-April.
The Pressurized irrigation system will be turned off as freezing temperatures are evident each fall. The system will be turned on when the temperatures are expect to stay above freezing at all times. Traditionally the date of turn on is April 15th, give or take a week either way as the system is charged. As the system is turned back on in the spring, be sure your outside taps are turned off to avoid water running without you knowing. If you have a sprinkler system, make sure it is prepared for pressurized irrigation water.  It is highly recommended that a water filter be installed on all sprinkling systems. Now would be a good time to check those filters for debris. View the instructional videos below.

Santaquin Residents, remember the irrigation water that comes out of our pressurized irrigation system is not potable water. It includes water from the city's Water Reclamation Facility (along with other sources)). It should not be used for drinking, filling kiddie pools, or other human consumption. With the completion of the new PI water tank and Booster Pump Station, Summit Ridge will now have secondary water in the irrigation system. The water is safe for human contact, agricultural and residential uses excluding human consumption. It is normal for the irrigation water to smell different than drinking water because it originates from a pond. Please educate your children by explaining the proper use of the irrigation water.
