Conditional Uses

A conditional use permit requires approval of the planning commission prior to the issuance of a permit for construction or commencement of use on properties within the city. Zoning regulations determine if a use is permitted, conditional or prohibited in a certain zone. A conditional use permit requires individual consideration of surrounding conditions and circumstances prior to approval by the planning commission. The planning commission may approve, approve with conditions or deny conditional use permits based on criteria found in the Santaquin City and state codes.

Zoning regulations define what business or residential uses are allowed in each zone within the city. Each zone in the city has a list or chart that indicates what uses are permitted, conditional or prohibited. See the  Zoning Map for specific zones established within the city. See Section 10.20 of the Santaquin City Code to see uses that are allowed in each zone.

The guidelines for applying and appealing conditional use permits are found in the Santaquin City Code. To apply for a Conditional Use, print and complete the application: Conditional Use Application.
