Park Inventory

o Squash Head Park located at 50 East Main Street is a community park comprised of .85 acres and is primarily open space. In 2004 the local Chamber of Commerce constructed a small pavilion at this location. There are a few picnic tables under the pavilion, two historical markers, a drinking fountain and several park benches.

o City Center Park (No official name) is 3.5 acres and is located behind the City Officer at approximately 200 South 100 West. This community park consists of open space that is used in the fall for soccer and flag football. This park is also used as a baseball/softball practice field in the spring/summer.

o Centennial Park is a six (6) acre park located at 100 South 350 West. This park sees the most usage of all the parks in the community. A large pavilion with electrical outlets and picnic tables is located on the north side of the park, surrounded by restroom facilities, a sand volleyball pit, two (2) horseshoe pits, and a large playground area. This pavilion is rented almost every weekend during the spring, summer and early fall for various activities. In 2002, Santaquin City installed lighting around the large baseball/softball field located at the southwest end of the park.

o Santaquin City baseball/softball recreation facility is located at approximately 100 South 450 West. This four (4) acre recreation facility is comprised of four, baseball/softball fields, one of which is owned by Nebo School District. Santaquin City and Nebo School District share this facility through an interlocal agreement. During the school year the school uses the facilities and during the summer the City utilizes the fields and school parking lot for its city leagues. Snack shack and restroom facilities sit in the middle of the four fields.

o Santaquin City Rodeo Arena is adjacent to the baseball/softball facility and is approximately six (6) acres in size. The rodeo arena is used year round by the local roping club. Once a year it becomes a focal point of the community when it hosts the "Little Buckaroo" rodeo and the "Santaquin Days" rodeo during the city celebration.

o Orchard Cove Park is a neighborhood park located at 300 West 700 North. The 1.8 acre park is comprised of a fenced tennis court, playground equipment, picnic tables, drinking fountain and a large open space area.

o Cottonwood Park is a small neighborhood park located on Orchard Lane. This park is approximately .50 acres in size and includes a small pavilion, picnic tables, a single basketball court and a drinking fountain.

o East Side Park is a neighborhood park located at approximately 400 North Cherry Lane. Completed in September 2005, this three (3) acre neighborhood park boasts a new pavilion, playground area, a walking path, and lots of open space.

o Santaquin Meadows Park is a proposed community park located at 400 East 610 South and is 3.81 acres in size. The city obtained the property for the park in 1999. In 2003, this property was part of a land swap between Santaquin City, Nebo School District and 5M Development to make all three properties feasible configurations for different uses, i.e., construction of a new elementary school, a new city park and a residential subdivision. This park will be constructed in conjunction with the construction of a Nebo School District Elementary School in 2005/2006. This property is currently raw land. Future plans include two (2) regulation size baseball/softball diamonds and two (2) soccer fields, & restroom facilities.
